A long-awaited investment in youth, wellness, and neighborhood connection — the $18 million facility is expected to open in late 2026.
The City of Decatur officially broke ground Friday on a state-of-the-art recreation center that will serve residents of all ages. The $18 million facility, funded by a combination of SPLOST dollars and private donations, will feature a gymnasium, indoor track, fitness rooms, and meeting spaces.
City leaders say the center represents a major step forward in their commitment to health, equity, and stronger community connections. Construction is expected to be completed in late 2026, with a public grand opening celebration planned for residents across the Decatur community.
