The Rockdale County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a road improvement project on Salem Road running from the city limits to Highway 20. The project includes resurfacing, drainage upgrades, and new signage throughout the corridor.
County Engineer David Reeves told commissioners the project had been in the capital plan for three years and that contractor bids came in under the original estimate. Work is expected to begin in early June pending final permitting approvals from the state DOT.
